: Written on border: "Apollo holding a branch of laurel or of myrthle and a bandelette stands before Venus [Aphrodite in Greek mythology] seated on a cippus, who holds a mirror and an umbrella, under which appears a flower design. A vine leaf and tendrils is in the corner. This might also be Adonis and Venus. Hamilton collection."
