Tretbar and Edgar Smith, based on Das Orakel, a Viennese operatta by Ignaz Schnitzer. Note 2.) National Endowment for the Arts Millennium Project. Note 3.) The operetta had one run, May 7-July 11, 1891, at the Casino theater, New York, N.Y. Not a popular success, Lillian Russell immediately revived her success from the previous year, The Grand Duchess.
