: [Kun Chun Moon] This is the east gate of Kyung Bok Palace. It was first built in 1395, destroyed by fire 1592, and rebuilt by Daiwon-kun (Father of Emperor Kojong) in 1865. On July 23, 1894, the Japanese Army surrounded the Palace, and severe fighting broke out with the Korean palace guards in front of this gate. [46]
