: Blemishes on image. Note 2.) Picture caption: "So besuchte der Führer einem Fliegerhorst der deutschen Luftwaffe und sass beim Weihnachtsbaum mitten unter den Soldaten. Er besuchte Flakstellungen in der Luftverteidigungszone West, wo ein Flakschütze ihm einen handgeschnitzten Adler überreichte." Note 3.) A picture full of symbolism. Not only was the eagle the emblem of the Reich, it was also the insignia of the newly-created German Air Force, the Luftwaffe. Note 4.) Title translates German picture caption
