: Drawn from life by H. Johnston, Esq're; lith'd by R. Hamerton. Note 2.) Four bare-footed temple dancers in performance, torsos bent to side, arms curved above head; a fifth woman sits on ground, lower right. Three men at left: a drummer, storyteller striking a pair of hand cymbals, and a flute or recorder player. Note 3.) This print documents a specific series of performances in London by this eight-member troupe from India.
