Production Notes

: Original Broadway Production-Opened May 28, 1953 at The Majestic Theater. It was a departure for Rodgers and Hammerstein's usual fare in its comedic score. The show was the concept of a play-within-a-play with a backstage love triangle at its center. However, the show was hardly a critical success.
