: A dog who also survived the shipwreck watches from the shore. Note the two cats sitting on the supply box at left, above the pistols. Note 2.) Compare this picture to the black-and-white version from another edition of the book (Image ID: 1697954). Note 3.) Written under picture: "Illus[tration] by Louis Rhead for for (sic) Robinson Crusoe". Crusoe rows supplies ashore on a raft made from the timbers of his wrecked ship.
