: Half body photograph by Mora; full body photograph on stage set, with snakes, unidentified. Note 2.) National Endowment for the Arts Millennium Project. Note 3.) Photographs of Lillian Russell in the role of Irma, D'Jemma in The Grand Mogul, or The Snake Charmer, music by Edmond Audran, libretto by H. P. Farnie, based on Le Grand Mogul by Henri Chivot and Alfred Duru. Note 4.) This was Russell's first major role, performed Oct. 29 to Dec. 17, 1881 at the Bijou Opera House, New York, N.Y., and the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Jan. 2-7, 1882. Note 5.)
