: Tomb of the "Holy Maccabees" whose martydom is described in 2 Maccabees 7. According to Josephus, Simon erected this tomb for his brothers. It was made of white and polished marble and featuring seven pyramids to commemorate the brothers, along with sculptures of ships. Note 2.) Written on border: "Tomb of the maccabees, Palestine : Reconstruction early 1800s"
