: Printed on mount: "Walter Pierce, wheat farmer, examines the first shoots of Pawnee wheat which he grows on his farm outside Hutchinson, Kansas. In 1941 he grew the very first test-crop of this strain of wheat, which grows into the flour used in Wonder Bread. (Pierce, who is portrayed in the Rising Wonder broadcast, appears on page 9 of the script.)"
