In the captured salient of St. Mihiel hidden among the ruins of Richecourt, in the St. Mihiel salient, the Americans found this stout concrete dugout. The American shells had nicked its "cornice," but beyond that had done the shelter no injury. The dugout had been built by the Germans nearly four years before.
