: Used only horizontal split of this issue known. The bottom half of a 10-cent issue used as a single five-cent stamp for a letter traveling less than three hundred miles. It was mailed on June 11, 1851. The townmark is struck twice, once to cancel the stamp. The letter is addressed to Jno. B. Brooke, Esq. who was the county clerk of Prince Georges county, Maryland.
