: Typed on mount: "Stationed at Fort Gibson in present day Oklahoma, regiment was founded in 1824. Sergeant's epaulettes and sash show rank; chevrons indicate 10 years or more service. Jacket is undress; dark blue tail-coat for parade. Cloth fatigue cap with 'poke' or visor. Bass drummer: sky blue coat, hat with black vulture's plumes." Note 2.) Foxing on image.
