: Caption on back: "Master Sergeant William P. Thompkins is shown gazing at a photo of his bride-to-be, Miss Delores Taylor, of Liverpool, England, whom he will marry when he goes overseas early this month for her terminal leave furlough. Sergeant Thompkins, sone of the Reverend and Mrs. Alfred E. Marshall, of 145-13 109th Street, Jamaica, Long Island, New York, is currently stationed at Fort Dix. He met Miss Taylor in 1943 at a formal dance given by the Colonial Office, in Liverpool, an organization of colonial subjects of the British Empire, of which she is a member. She is now employed as a telephone operator. Sergeant Thompkins plans to bring his bride back to the United States, and hopes to complete his studies in theology at New York University. This will be Miss Taylor's first trip to America. 4-2-47."
